A simple twist on the ever popular AK is making it in a standard American/NATO caliber. While offering the same rifle in other traditional Soviet calibers (7.62x39 and 5.45x39), Black Forge™ also offers a Kalashnikov chambered for the American .223 Remington caliber.

Keeping the original look and feel of an AK, the Tactical Black Poly offers a black polymer stock set because situations can vary and the environment can be harsh.

Backed by a  Lifetime Warranty, the Tactical Black Poly comes with many high quality standards such as a four-way adjustable milled Red Star Arms Trigger System, an integrated bullet guide, internal recoil reducer and adapter block fit without permanently altering the rear trunnion. The Tactical Black Poly also comes with the late Afghan era AK74 style muzzle break, greatly reducing recoil, allowing for faster follow-up shots, and a more traditional look.

The Tactical Black Poly, like every other Black Forge™ AK is built on the Vepr receiver platform exceeding industry standards and quality expectations. Tested by age and warfare, the Russian Molot Vepr comes standard with one and a half times the thickness of a stamped receiver, a heavy duty RPK trunnion, and a hammer forged chrome lined tapered barrel.

  • The RPK receiver is the Vepr receiver. This Vepr RPK receiver was built for extreme sustained fire and therefore was made of 50% thicker steel. The trunnion of the Vepr like the RPK has heavy reinforcements on both sides. The engineering of the Vepr has produced a receiver that is actually more stable than a machined receiver. This receiver combined with the extra heavy duty target like barrel produces accuracy unparalleled and any comparisons should be done with the Russian Tiger Dragunov.
