As if it fell off the battle fields of the former Soviet Unions’ great conquests in the latter half of the 20th century and into your hands, Black Forge™ is proud to present the Avtomat Kalashnikov in its original configuration from start to finish.

From the heart of the Motherland this Vepr is reworked from its imported configuration and outfitted with everything it was originally designed to feature such as the classic Russian Red birch laminate stock set, 2 piece handguard and slant muzzle break. Black Forge™ has converted the rifle for 922r compliance and upgraded the trigger with a four-way adjustable milled Red Star Arms trigger system giving this Black Forge™ reproduction an edge over its predecessor 65 years ago!

 A couple more key features included in the Wolverine is a crush washer on the muzzle break and a bullet guide for high capacity magazines and drums, which gives this rifle flexibility while maintaining originality.

From the Molot Factory overseas the rifle is made with a receiver one and a half times thicker than any other AK on the market with an RPK machinegun front trunnion and a hammer forged, chrome lined tapered barrel extending the life of the barrel to hundreds of thousands of rounds.

The RPK receiver is the Vepr receiver. This Vepr RPK receiver was built for extreme sustained fire and therefore was made of 50% thicker steel. The trunnion of the Vepr like the RPK has heavy reinforcements on both sides. The engineering of the Vepr has produced a receiver that is actually more stable than a machined receiver. This receiver combined with the extra heavy duty target like barrel produces accuracy unparalleled and any comparisons should be done with the Russian Tiger Dragunov.
